Channelkirk Cottage, Oxton, Lauder

This proposal is an extension of a traditional detached house to create a new spacious living space and double garage.

The design is simple in form with roof overhangs to front and back which provide shelter from the exposed site. Materials are similar in language to the house and buildings in the area whilst responding to specifics of the site, brief and budget. A glazed entrance linking between old and new forms a new front entrance. Accessibility was also a consideration to create a barrier free environment at ground floor level.

Removal of an existing conservatory to open up the front elevation of the original building will be a consideration in the future.         Click here for news update
